Garden 2013 summer.....

Hugely productive garden this season, reaping the rewards of our past few years hard work, herbs for daily use, bunches of them, pesto with the basil.  there was zucchini yellow and green, chard, sweet corn which was great despite the last few cobs getting scorched on the plant.  Berries oh my, raspberries where so sweet, all the varieties of berry we planted did really well and a good long season, the strawberries failed to produce much, oranges that have lasted from Dec and we are still juicing them and adding up fully of pomegranate juice to it, still trying to convince the kids the pomegranate pips are delicious, and at ove $2each at the supermarket we are very lucky to have so many to share.  The birds beat us to most of the grapes, the crimson grape being the most delicious one we planted.  Asparagus and leeks made a great show, the asparagus is lovely eaten raw if you ever get chance to pick it fresh, tastes like a pea.  And peas where grown up wigwams on the front patch and harvested regularly by MissM. Motives ripening now and will be bottling them over autumn.....now for some pics......
