growing our veggies and xmas time

The sunflowers grew and grew and grew some more!....
The veggie patch on the front is producing so much at the moment yellow zuchini, beetroots basil, pak choy, the melon is growing madly and the grapevines starting to grow too.....

 cucumber seedlings
Nataive kangaroo paw that the kids gave us for xmas a yellow and a red one, beautiful...

planting native shrubs around the edge of the bed to attract benificial insects....

feels as if the garden could burst with all the growth at the moment, long hot summer days are ripening the fruits and veggies, tomatoes and strawberries are the kids favourites, the purple potato mash was delicious, broccoli and leeks in good supply, raspberries are a bit rare but hoping to have a better crop next year, the figs are getting fatter and we've covered to protect from the greedy birds, after all its the greedy humans that want to eat them! We lost the stoned fruit to fruit fly and the amount of rain earlier in the season but will start again with that next year.  our first cucumber was harvested on Xmas day.
