A look around the garden

Armed with a new batteries in the camera and M sleeping for a while I stalked a few insects around the veggie patch, those bees are camera shy and to get a few decent pics was quite an achievement. The garden is very damp still from the deluge of rain over the last week, the good side is that its made everything a vibrant shade of green or red and that's good to see as we start our way into autumn.....

 even though the artichokes are going over they still look impressive

 tricky little bees on the basil flowers they adore the basil, I am saving the seed and will plant heaps of basil through the garden to attract the bees next year

 a delicious cabbage ready for picking at the weekend, more impressive colours

 a flowering leek plant with a little creepy crawly, think its a shield bug, kids love to collect these bugs

 this is an everlasting spinach that is supposed to be tasty, we haven't had much leaf on it this year so hope to get it through the winter so we can taste it next spring

Fun with the army vehicles

In complete and utter happiness is little Gg as he wanders around talking to the soldiers at the Army family welcome day here in Wodonga (Gc was attending a guide stand at the event)

 And here is Gg recieving his 'Good Choice Guru' award at school, what a star, well done!!

arrival of our Puppy "Bella"

 Our newest addition to our family is Bella she has settled in really well, sleeps through the night, eats well, toilets in the garden (most of the time) and is totally adorable and loved by all.

So much has been going on around the garden its been hard to keep up with, anyway here's a few pics taken, the guinea pigs have a new home

 They will be joined by a few chooks later in the year

 lots of fruit and veg coming from the front garden, zucchinis, tomatoes, cucumbers, salad onions, beetroot, herbs and more herbs and watermelons that weigh so much the kids carry them between them to get them inside..

 My hollyhocks are an amazing colour

 The marigolds get brighter each time we look at them

 The little blue flower that G chose he made a good choice will be saving seeds from all the flowers to sow next year
