The sun shines from 6am til 9pm, the birds and butterflies fill the bushes and trees, the washing dries in no time at all, we have to remember to put sunscreen and hats on but it will become a habit in a few weeks time, kids are swimming in the outdoor pool, and xmas beetles are everywhere....summer his here!!!

having a go at growing cape gooseberries, they suffered in the heat even though the label said it can tolerate full sun, the plants are doing much better now they are shaded a bit....
The front garden almost completed here, it has had its final load of soil and mulched since and is growing madly!!

Xmas festivities under way and things are growing fast in the garden, hoping to get most of our xmas day dinner from the garden (apart from the prawns that is )!!!

Around the house Oct....
David and George celebrate the end of the NRL season in matching Melbourne Storm tops..
Beetroot by the bucket full and of course the matching pink finger tips from peeling them...Greens in the veggie beds, a never ending supply of chard
Never too far behind is Matilda....
Grapevine produced lots of bunches and plenty of shade too
A productive corner of the garden strawberries in the baskets, apple trees, parsley, cucumber, spinach, cape gooseberry, coriander..........
Sweetcorn popping up, carrots, bush beans, sage and basil....
The front garden now filled with soil and planted out with a few grasses and flowers but mostly veggies, zucchini, beetroot, pok-choy, spring onions, tomatoes, basil and water melon...

today we shelled about 100 broad beans pods blanched and frozen George was helping he was looking for a special golden bean!
