School Holiday Fun!

 Well first week almost over and it was off to a great start with the weather, the landscapers arrived to start the terrace on the front garden the sun was shining and the diary full of outdoor activities with friends and just for us, then on Wednesday it started raining and we have been dodging the showers, hail stones, thunder and lightening ever since, a warm sunny change is forecast for the start of the second week of the hols so fingers crossed, we can go on those outings we had to postpone.  We did do a few things and took a few pics to show you all.  The garden go as far as 9 x 600mm holes dug that are now 9 deep puddles, lots of fun for the kids plopping pebbles in not sure the workmen will appreciate that on Monday morning though!  At last a break in the rain showers and we head of to a brand new park in Albury, we went earlier in the week but with it being 'new', sunny and the school hols it was, as expected, packed and the kids couldn't go on many things, so after 3 days of rain we needed to run around and skip and jump and laugh.....

 And then we went to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 at the movies.....

 The holes, lots of holes, the neighbor said the bunnies are bad round here, it took me a while until I figured out what she meant! its been a long week!!!

Spring is here!!

 The view from the kitchen window has changed, we took out 3 lilli-pilli trees, you can see just one remains on the right hand side of the picture, we have planted apple trees, 4 so far they are dwarf column type trees that grow straight upwards, above are strawberries in the baskets and parsley behind the trees and mini agapanthus in front, looking forward to watch this area mature, and hope we get some lovely apples next year.

 This is where the work has been going on, the old apple trees and an almond taken out, lots of muscle power, and now planted with citrus trees, broad beans and along the back fence are 8 raspberry canes..

The new veggie bed has been planted with tomatoes and potatoes just a few bok-choy left at the back for some stir fries this week.

A busy weekend in the garden and many more to come this time of the year as we plan the seasons plantings and pickings.
