After a rain storm appears a moat around the veggie bed, no ducks though that would be fun..

Grace eagerly practicing her knitting........

George is very proud of his Star wars Lego creations....

And around the garden this wintery June, we had a few soggy days but mostly clear skie,s which means we get frosts about -2degs at night and gloriously sunny days up to 16deg, so we can wrap up and enjoy lots of time outdoors in the garden or the local parks.  Although by  4pm we're back indoors with the fire lit warming our toes...

This little grevillia in flower now, its so pretty and bright, I plan to take a few more pics at ground level,  its the only one out of about 5 ground cover grevillia's that we planted to survive, not sure if the others had too much shade or the soil didn't suit them.

Another native which has a pretty scented little blue flower that attracts lots of bees to it...

The brassica bed, presently being eaten by cabbage white butterfly caterpillars. Fortunately the pok choy and kale is very resistant to caterpillars, slugs and snails we will plant more of those next time and less of the cabbage and broccoli....
Very proud of our Mandarin tree, heavy with fruit, great to pick and eat while we're outside and kids love them in their lunch boxes for school...
Grapefruit tree - the fruits are so big and heavy I'm surprised the branches haven't all snapped, luckily they are strong and have added a few canes to support some of the weight on the branches....

Below the fig in this barrel we have rocket and marjoram growing..the rocket is great for making pesto, we seem to be able to grow salad leaves all year round, its so expensive in the shops at the moment for a soggy bag full of leaves..

The New veggie bed, 2.5 tonnes of soil so far to fill it.  Our plan's to fill this with spuds for the first year.  This weekend the side was attached so it just has to be levelled out and we can get some spuds ordered to grow.

 Lemons, lemons, lemons...
The onion/leeks taking off well in the allium family bed, today I planted beetroots and more leeks, because we love them, theres more shallots in clumps aroud the garden, no pests here...

While I'm taking the photos Matilda is enjoying some warm sunshine in the carrysling, look at those chubby cheeks, she loves being in the garden.

Broad beans, hoping its not too shady here for them, will see how we go, will plant a second crop over next few days in the sun just in case...

Molly, molly how does your garden grow? Molly watching over the silver beet, actually its her hiding spot for pouncing on the blackbirds.

Artichokes are growing rapidly, these were tiny seedlings only a few weeks ago.

Newly planted citrus so very pleased to get a few fruit on our tangelo in the first year.

Transplanted the blackcurrant bushes, and would love to add a few more to our collection here

Citrus trees planted earlier in the year, all showing healthy growth and some fruit.
Those leeks again, we do love them

White Camellia in flower, a great attracter for the fairy wrens, androbins in the garden
Little daffs, such a pretty surprise to find them flowering already, I smelt the scent before I saw these little beauts..

Grapefruits

Avocados looking great they need protection from the frost at night so just few old sheets cover them well.  Who'd have thought it was the middle of winter in our sunny little patch?
