Newly built school is opened

This was the day we've been waiting for, Wodonga South finally moving into their newly build $12 million dollar school.  Its very impressive with all the mod cons we are looking forward to the official tour next Friday.  At this location is also the kindergarten, where George goes, his group moved in also this week a very modern room with lots of natural building materials he went today and had a great time. Heres a few pics from Wednesday.

Our first assembly held in the sports stadium, a real change from the kids sitting outside on the tarmac, now they can have assembly whatever the weather....
BBQ area, with a wood fired oven.....

Some of the areas are still being landscaped, this area is astro turf so will always look green.  The taller glass building is the kindergarten where George goes, its linked into the school to familiarise the children with the area prior to the school transition....

Sports oval, still waiting for the grass to get nice and thick, they will be able to use it in about 4 weeks..

April garden update

Better than what any Easter bunny could leave, well for me anyway, seedlings waiting to be planted includes artichokes, broad beans, onions, lettuce...
Rocket and marjoram under the fig tree
Manderins ripening up on the tree, carefully watched by the kids who can't wait to eat them
Winter veggie bed, brochli, cabbage, pok choy, kale
The start of another veggie bed, yippee, or ouch as Dave would say he's done all the digging, will be raised the same as the one on the right of the picture, we should be ableto get a good crop rotation now with three beds.  Lemon tree and orange tree in the borders behind
Onions and Shallots planted, pumpkins and squashes ripening well
A productive corner, yellow excel fig in barrell and lettuce seedlings planted out by Grace, artichokes behind as they like full sun and more shallots
Broad beans will be more impressive in the early spring when they've grown and produced some beans

An area in waiting, Grace dug out all the plants in her bed, and wants to start again, luckily I was able to plant the original plants around the garden, watch this space, aswe don't know whats going to happen here yet.

Lake Hume fishing

A lovely sunny Anzac day and Dave took Grace and George to the lake for some fishing, I joined a little later with Matilda.  A few fish caught, lots of tree climbing, sandcastles making, running, splashing, George even went in up to his knees, brave boy it was very cold.  Great to see so many people around the lake camping, fishing, picnicking, chilling out................

Grace practicing her 'casting out' and explaining her technique to George...

Matilda keeping a close watch on the fishing activities.....

George caught a redfin (perch) on his rod

Hope you've all had a lovely easter xx
